Sigita and I visit with Mrs. Valukas
Sigita and I spent a very nice afternoon with Mrs. Valukas at her New Haven apartment. Valukiene is 90 years old now. She was one of Vaiva's early mentors, so we had a wonderful conversation about those early days. I have a cache of photos to scan, so there will be more postings tomorrow.

293 pages
I am going to visit Mrs. Valukas tomorrow, one of the New Haven Lithuanian matriarchs so influential in Vaiva's childhood. She's 90, doesn't get out much, and doesn't have a computer. So I'll be bringing her the two DVDs I've made, and I arranged to print the blog for her.
I used an internet service called blog2print, which reordered the pages and laid them out on 8.5 x 11 pages. To my surprise, it came to 320 pages total. However, that includes front and back covers that I don't need, 20 pages for a table of contents listing the 534 separate posts, and some unexplained blank pages. To print the content, which includes all the photos, I needed 293 pages. I've collected them in a three-ring binder for her.
She may have some blogworthy material to share about Vaiva.
