Because I felt as though Mama sent me to South America to live vicariously through me, I wrote her letters every day about my concerts, tourist excursions, new experiences, and friends. She asked me, what are empanadas? And she looked up the areas of Buenos Aires I liked the most on Wikipedia to learn the history behind them. I actually enjoyed Uruguay the most-- we lived with friends and met more people and drank more mate and saw more nature. Mama always wrote great letters back to me.
